A Year in Attendance Impact: 23-24 District Partnership Highlights

Chronic absenteeism has been on everyone’s mind for a while now, and educators across the nation have been working tirelessly to bring more students back into the classroom for increasingly critical learning opportunities.  

At EveryDay Labs, we partner with over 60 districts across the country to help them supercharge family engagement, build a strong culture of attendance, and transform student outcomes. Just like so many other educators, our district partners are busy juggling competing priorities and providing families and students the support they need for success. But they know that much of student success hinges on whether they show up to take advantage of the investments that have been made on their behalf, and we are honored to make the work of attendance improvement just a little bit easier. 

This year, we were thrilled to see some real progress across all of our partnerships. While there’s always still work to do, we are encouraged by the gains in family engagement and attendance that we’re seeing across the country. Read on for the highlights!

After analyzing attendance data from our partners across the nation, we were excited to see our partnerships encourage real progress in chronic absenteeism. 

Leveraging Strategic Attendance Analytics for Student Success

Without the right attendance data, delivering meaningful support to the many students who need it can be downright impossible. That’s why we’re serious about providing our partners with the essential data they need to keep students on track for success through our attendance MTSS dashboard. The dashboard not only presents the latest in chronic absenteeism and average daily attendance rates, but also provides student level data, surfacing patterns and trends to help educators take quick action. To help users maximize the dashboard for meaningful impact, we offer professional learning sessions, and were pleased to see that average satisfaction with the professional learning sessions in the 23-24 school year was a 9 out 10. 

So much of attendance work is about helping students and families overcome barriers to attendance, and the platform was created with this in mind, which is why we were pleased to see this in action with nearly 3,000 attendance barriers logged. The built-in space for collaboration and intervention coordination makes it easier for teams to work together, and with over 2,200 intervention groups and 3,400 student notes created, we are excited to see our dashboard become the go-to place for attendance work.

Strong family-school partnerships are essential to better attendance, and we are proud to support our partners in this critical work. Through our 24/7 Family Support Bot as well as our multilingual Family Support Team, we’ve helped school districts not only build a culture of attendance through a better understanding of why attendance matters, but also connect more families to resources that help make attending every day a little bit easier.
