EveryDay Labs’ Top 5 Moments of 2024
As 2024 comes to a close and we all get ready to lean into that fresh start energy of the new year, we’re taking some time to reflect on the most meaningful moments for the team here at EveryDay Labs. From our co-founder speaking at the White House Every Day Counts Summit to launching a brand new user community for our partners, it’s been a busy year! Read for the highlights.
EveryDay Labs at the White House Every Day Counts Summit
On May 15, leading educators from across the country gathered at the White House to share how they're addressing the chronic absenteeism crisis. Our friends Dr. Shadae Harris at Richmond Public Schools and Tyree Pollard at Columbus City Schools were featured on a panel moderated by Attendance Works' Hedy Chang, and our cofounder and Chief Scientist Dr. Todd Rogers made a special appearance shortly after! Launching the EveryDay Labs User Community
Just in time for Back to School 24-25, we launched the EveryDay Labs User Community, directly accessible from within the EveryDay Platform. Attendance work requires an all hands on deck approach, and what better way to bring educators focused on attendance work together than a virtual community devoted to this very topic. Attendance improvement is now more social with a dedicated space for live, virtual professional learning and dedicated spaces for educators to connect with their colleagues and other EveryDay Labs users across the country.

New Data Showing Impact of Early Outreach
After digging into the latest absenteeism data from the over 1.5 million students we serve across the country, our team uncovered some striking findings with profound impacts for attendance improvement strategies.
Most notably, we found that while most educators report spending the majority of their time on students with extreme absenteeism, focusing more on at-risk and moderately chronically absent students can really move the needle for better chronic absenteeism rates.
Additionally, we found that even just one day missed has a negative impact on academic achievement. And it doesn't end there: the sharpest decline happens even before a student becomes chronically absent, underscoring the critical need for proactive attendance efforts in order to drive academic success.
You can read more about our findings here and here.
Attendance Impact Highlights
At the end of the day, our mission is to ensure that as many students as possible have the opportunity to learn and connect with their peers and teachers every day. In the 23-24 school year, we were thrilled to see the following improvements across our partnerships:
To date, our team has:
- Prevented over 2.3 million absences, translating to over 880 million minutes of learning, exploration, and engagement.
- Connected families to district & community resources support to help them overcome barriers to attendance over 769,000 times.
